Dark Age

Besides being my first day of work, today was also the first day of my week without TV. It was kinda weird, since basically all I do at home now is watch TV (on my computer). I got home from work, and dinner wasn’t ready yet, so I was about to catch up on some Daily Show when the little reminder in my calendar hits my eye.

So instead, I caught up on some manga that came out over the weekend, and now I’m going to actually crack a book for the first time in a while. The first time ever at my new house.

This also means that I’m even more down than usual to hang, so please give me a call. As an added bonus, when I hang out with people, there’s more of a chance of a Quote of the Day!

The Return of the King

You know what I haven’t done in a long time? Quote of the day!

Here’s one for today:

Do you think if [the manager] knows I have a hole in my pants, he’ll kick me out?“
 – Will N

Will said this as we ate at Phở Hoa for dinner. We told him there was only one way to find out — he should ask the manager. Or show him. So I guess that’s actually two ways?

Anyway, sorry about the quote hiatus, guys. I tell myself it’s because I’m boring and anti-social. I will endeavor to do post them more regularly. Not sure if I can do it on a daily basis again.

Oh, and a HUGE thanks to Will N, Joe M, and especially James S for your help today. I think my dad and I would have died if you guys hadn’t come by.

Three Sharp Taps

Today was the first meeting of the term, and I was pretty nervous. I had done all my homework reading in the morning, and by afternoon, I was kinda anxious… I did a bunch of random APhiO–related tasks, and walked over to talk with Jimmy a lot. At one point, he asked me, “Are you just pacing until the meeting?” I guess it was that obvious. Oh, and I drank a lot of water today, too, because I felt slightly sick, and fluids tend to help in that department. But a full bladder all day long certainly didn’t help with the butterflies in the stomach.

The meeting went pretty well. I got through the dedication without tripping over my tongue. Considering the fact that it was CPPC, I think things moved along very nicely. Wish there was a bit more discussion, as well as a bit more turnout, but hopefully those things will pick up as the term goes on and people get comfortable. I should have encouraged it more at the beginning, though. I know new actives are always pretty shy.

Came home and did a bunch more random APhiO–related stuff. Now it’s time to pass out. But first, the quote of the day… comes from last night when I checked my AIM messages as I was about to pass out.

Boo, you got to see Stacey! And hi, how are you?”
