One of the reasons I started this blog was also the reason I got a helmet cam — to act as a second memory.
Thing about the helmet cam, though… besides the fact that it’s socially irregular to be constantly helmet camming my life, it’s not very technologically feasible right now. The model I have can store about 16 hours of video at 1080p, but the battery only lasts for two hours. Well, it’s rated for two; last time I tried to use it, it actually lasted a little under one hour.
Yesterday, when I was hanging out at Michow’s place when Richow mentioned that for his job (he runs Experimetrix-like studies), he sometimes hooks up the experimenters with glasses that have hidden cameras in the frames. I doubt the specs are as good as my helmet cam, but the hidden value is definite plus. I should try to get my hands on some and see how much daily use I can get out of them. At least until someone actually comes up with wormhole cams.
