Getting Lost In SF

So Thu H and I headed back to 580 California for our 2:40 appointment for induction at the Jejune Institute. Like I said before, it was a busy day for them. In fact, Saturday was supposedly the last day the induction would be held, so there were six other people waiting in the reception area for us to come back — they wanted to join us in the induction! (We let them join us for the introduction and agreed we would split up for the hunt portion.)

Be warned, the rest of this post details our adventure, complete with photos. I don’t think I’m spoiling anything at this point since Act 1 has closed, but just in case you want to unofficially run the game, like some people are doing now.

Belle of the Ball

I never put a lot of thought into Halloween. I tell myself it’s because I’m waiting for inspiration to strike me, but more likely, it’s just because I’m lazy. I mean, since I’m well past the age to trick-or-treat, the only reason I get in costume anymore is that it’s a requirement for Halloween parties. It’s just one more thing between me and fun times. Sometimes literally, which is why my one rule for my costumes is that it not impede my hands or mouth. (Last year, when I dressed up as The Stig, I carried a straw with me, but that did not work well.)

Anyways, my friends want to go Top Gun this year, but that was a bit narrow for a group our size, so I suggested at least expanding to ‘80s action movies. (If only I had heard from my other group of friends first… they have a Clue thing going on. Or from Jenn N… I forget about Journey To The End Of The Night until after I’ve already made other plans.)

Looked around on the internet for costume ideas.

I don’t have the balls to pull this off:

(from CounterThink.)

I’d love to do this, but it doesn’t really work in a party scene:

(from DocPop.)

I’d do this if I could get some remote-controlled tentacle action going:

(from Buttersafe.)

So I went ‘80s action after all. If you want to see the specifics, I’ll be the sweatiest guy at Halloween Massive.

What I've Been Saying...

So to keep up this streak, I guess I should put up a post for today.

So… let’s see…

Woke up on my own. Went online. Talked to Kitty and Kristen. They are both Chinese girls from Frisco that are currently in Hong Kong for study abroad programs. I sent them each other’s information. Got a random e-mail from Jenn N, and she hooked me up with my files and databases from Retarded Azn Bish, which has had been down for a while. Spent the day working on putting the old posts up on this site.

Joe M woke up, and we had chicken nuggets for lunch. Peggy came home and she ate something, too. Then I wrote some more and simultaneously tried to take care of some service stuff. Drew came home and we worked on service fair fliers. Then more copying old posts over as I waited for everyone to get ready to go to Santa Cruz.

We finally took off, but stopped in Dixon for gas and McDonald’s. Drew and Peggy had Fillets-O-Fish, but I went with good ol’ Big Macs. Then there was some more driving. Today’s quote was during the driving.

Hello?”

- Drew, answering his phone.

Hi.”

- Peggy, from shotgun seat.

Hey, what’s up?”

- Drew.

Nothing much.”

- Peggy.

What?”

- Drew, after a pause.

I didn’t say anything.”

- Peggy.

How?”

- Drew.

I just didn’t say anything… Are you picking your nose?”

- Peggy.

Yeah, save it.”

- Drew.

Why do you want to save it?”

- Peggy.

He wants to share it with you later.”

- Me.

Yeah.”

- Drew.

Keep in mind Drew was talking on the phone with Vince the whole time about X-Men: Legends 2 and had no idea what Peggy and I were saying.

We finally got to Santa Cruz, and rolled into downtown to meet up with Aaron L, who was chilling with his friends at a bookstore. They left to the local bar after that, but Aaron L left them for us. Ah, how sweet of him! Anyway, we went back to his place, and played video games.

Now I’m on his computer, and about to go to sleep. Good night, America!
