Smile Around The Face

Today started slow, but finished awesome. I can’t wipe the grin off my face right now as I look back.

Woke up a bit… frazzled. Gave Peggy S her wake-up call, then alternated between being online, watching TV, and laying in bed. Sound familiar? Yeah, I’ve been doing this for days.

Around lunch, got a call from Alice C that Habitat for Humanity of Yolo County has a project for us. Score! Then I got an even better call. UCD called and a lady told me that I would be getting something in the mail in the next couple of days that includes information on how to register for Fall 2005 classes! SCORE!

Watched some GTO with Will N for a while. After that, online job hunted really quickly basically until it was time for the project. Took a shower and heated up a burrito, then I made my rounds and picked up Thu H, Jimmy P, Izzy P, and Peggy S. KVIE was fun, as usual. Except Peggy S was picking on me all night. Like she broke my terminal. :( And then she got Izzy P, who was sitting on my other side, to help pick on me, too. Good thing Russ, the studio captain, took my side.

Stop it!”

- Peggy S, when I tickled her back.

Do I have to separate you two?”

- Russ.

He started it!”

- Peggy S.

But look at what it says on your shirt!”

- Russ.

It was her Elmo “Tickles wanted,” shirt.

After the project, dropped everyone off and went to Joe M’s to fix his computer. He wasn’t home, though, so I left him a message and went over to Peggy S’s for a bit in case he was going to come home soon. She made some great noodles for me, and we watched TV for a bit. Then she looked like she was about to pass out on the couch, so I told her to go to sleep, and went home. Sorry Joe M… I guess I’ll fix your computer some other day.

Now I’m sitting here reading some more Xangas and considering going to bed. Oh, and to Alison W… you have no one to blame but yourself for reading this when you should be hard at work. :)

Brown Boxes

Good lord, this is the last bandwagon I want people jumping on.

Let’s see… yesterday morning… I woke up around 8. Read Cryptonomicon in bed until a little before 10. Went to wake up Thuong T, but she was already up. Went online and the first IM I get is from Peggy S telling me to post. So I do. Followed by checking up on other people’s blogs. Including Joz’s, which I haven’t been to in a while. She’s got a post about the world’s ugliest dog. It reminds me of the rat monkey claymation monster from Dead Alive. It’s scary that such a thing could exist in this world.

Anyways, went back to the book after that. That’s basically all I did all day, expect for my brief moment of human contact when Peggy S came over to pick up Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy.

At 5 I went downstairs to watch Simpsons, and got ready to go to Alison W’s farewell dinner during That 70s Show. I was one of the first to get there, so I helped Alison W carry the food from her place out to the picnic area and got the grill going. She had SO much food! Hamburgers, hot dogs, and chicken and ribs that she had made ahead of time, too. The ribs were awesome, by the way… and a family secret of hers, so if you didn’t come try them yesterday, you’re SOL now.

I had fun cooking and chilling. Quote comes from a random conversation I overheard as I went near Almira V to get a drink.

Did you know Esther P has climbed Half Dome?
Did you know Esther P used to be on the track team?
Did you know Esther P showered in the middle of the street in Mexico?”

- Almira V.

Are you playing ‘Two Truths and a Lie’ ?”

- Me.

Sorry Esther P, but all of those things seem very implausible.

Oh, and if I could record sound effects, I would have a second quote from when Esther P bonked herself and then Dorothea C on the head with an empty water bottle and asked everyone around them which sounded hollower.

Soon, it got dark and people slowly wandered home. The remainder of the APhiO crowd went with Alice C over to Thoreau to check out her KHOP living space. It’s nice, except for the current lack of AC.

Then back to the picnic area, and we decided to go to Café Bernardo’s, since I still owed Alison W a wikki from our birthdays. :) We got there just at last call, and got five wikkis with only three IDs. And then the bartender forgot to charge us. Or maybe he was just hitting on Dorothea C in her hot Doraemon shirt. No one actually downed their drink with me, though. I was sad… you ruin the wikki by not downing it! Well, not “ruin,” but it definitely tastes best if you down it immediately, giving the ingredients no time to settle and separate.

Oh, and I know all the ingredients except for one now! The bartender use vodka, (some other clear liquor) gin, white tequila, triple sec, clear rum, amaretto, orange juice, pineapple juice, cranberry juice, and 151 in the straw. And this one didn’t bother with the jigger; he just poured straight from the bottle into the straws. (He did have a pourer on the bottle, though. It would be MAD skillz if he didn’t.) I’m guessing the last item is either more vodka, or maybe gin. I’m gonna have to experiment.

After the wikki’s, I think originally the plan was to go to Sophia’s, but interest seemed low, so we all went home. Took a shower, and then chatted online with Peggy S until sunrise.

Best of luck to you in LA, Alison W!

Food, Sex, and Ewe

And then for yesterday. Or as I like to call it, “National Feed Dinh Day.”

Woke up from a weird dream I had. If you’ve read Gantz, I dreamed that some friends and I had those power suits, and were fighting monsters, but ended up confused and turning on each other.

Worked on the website for a bit. I couldn’t get it to do what I wanted it to do, though. I hate that feeling. I really need to look through all of Erik’s code and get a better feel for how everything fits together, instead of learning about things as I try to change them. Also inputting basically every pairing back to Toy term. I had pairing lists sent to me for Tran and West terms, but Toy term was all memory. And looking through various ImageStations at pictures from our BB Revealing.

Will N was cleaning up downstairs, which I thought was a little odd. But I really should have been suspicious when he moved the furniture outside. Last time we did that was for his birthday. But then he took me out to lunch and I thought nothing more of it. I guess I’m a sucker that way. Distracting me with food works every time… keep that in mind if you ever want to pull a fast one on me. :)

Took Will N to class after lunch, and went online some more. Then it was time to head over to Will Oh’s for his Aggie Auction after-BBQ. It was really good… thanks Will! You are the best chair ever. :) Had some awesome Korean BBQ and kim chi, then swam for a bit in the Avalon pool with Roger, Michelle, and Ben.

Then it was time for the Toyfest BBQ at Arroyo Park. Headed over there with Peggy, and we were among the first there, of course. Thanks mommies! You guys are the best mommies ever! They fed us burgers, hot dogs, and “xa xiu” chicken. The turn-out was good, too. I think we had more people at the BBQ than we did for the Toy Class Reunion around Christmas time. Quote coems from when we were all standing around the grill waiting for Mommy Van to feed us -

What happened, Trung?!”

- Joe L, pointing at the trail of wet spots going from Trung’s crotch down to his toes.

Oh, it was the water fountain.”

- Trung.

What kinda water fountain does that? Where is the fountain, anyway?”

- Joe L.

It’s over there behind those bushes.”

- Trung.

And then he realized that didn’t really help his case.

Then I headed over to Kitty’s place because Kitty and Will N had been telling me to go to Terren’s birthday BBQ all week. Will N was pretty insistent on it, too… especially today. Chilled there for a while… it was weird, because it was the first party I’ve been to in a while where I didn’t know everyone… it was mostly Terren’s ChemEng friends. Shizzle was there, though! I haven’t seen that fool in ages. :) Bao, James S, and I sat in the corner, mostly. I had hella Coronas and took a birthday shot of Henny with Terren.

Then Eddie came over and said some funny stuff. James S and I decided to go back to the apartment to see what was up. And it was a surprise party for us! And Alison, although… James S was told it was for me, and Alison was told it was for James S and me. So again, we had a joint surprise party. :) Thanks to Eddie and Will N for putting that that together! And yeah, I’m slow. And I was surprised. Again.

And thanks to everyone who came by to chill with me! Sorry I was a bit of a downer last night at my own party. I get weird around this time of year. Damn introspection! So yeah, I chilled on outside more than anything, and avoided the dance floor whenever possible. Thanks to Peggy for pushing me just a little past my limits. ;)

People started migrating to and from the like four other parties in town, and mine fizzled out after a while. That’s cool, though… I just passed out.
