Someone To Believe In

So my sister and I were talking about politics, and she said that she needed to do some research to find out who she should vote for, and that she wished that there was just some website with a big chart that would compare all the candidates for her.

I pointed her to the Political Philosophy Quiz, which ranks you on four different dimensions of political thought — progressive vs. conservative values, pure capitalist vs. social capitalist, libertarian vs. authoritarian, and pacifist vs. militarist. Then, you can take your scores for all four dimensions and figure out which candidate for the ’08 election is most similar to your own views.

Despite the fact that she claims to be Republican (possibly because our parents are), Dong Ha scored as a Democrat on the quiz; she got 6÷9÷6÷9 on the four dimensions. Furthermore, she had a four-way tie for her most compatible candidate — it was between Hillary Clinton, Chris Dodd, John Edwards, and John McCain. She says she will now vote for McCain, because he’s the only Republican on that list. We’ll see if it makes it past the primaries, though… right now, he’s polling at about 12%.

Oh, and if you were curious about how I did in the quiz… I got Libertarian (9÷6÷1÷0), and my most compatible candidate was actually a three-way tie between Joe Biden, Barack Obama, and Mike Gravel. Ron Paul was my 4th choice.

How are you guys supposed to vote?

Back in Sac for the moment. Had all-you-can-eat sushi for brunch with the family, then spent most of the day napping, playing Flash games online (for those of you who were obsessed with the Impossible Quiz, the sequel is now out!), and watching Shaun of the Dead. Man, it was still so good that I immediately had to order the DVD.

Anyway, if you’re bored and want to see how long you will live, try one of these three quizes: (Realistic) (Zombies) (Endless Zombies)

Anyway, quote comes from Top Gear, which I watched at Eddie C’s place yesterday:

I have great admiration for the original explorers, but now I want to show people how easy it is to get to the North Pole or to scale Everest… I think we could have a career of being the worst explorers ever.”

- Jeremy Clarkson, as he drove his way to the North Pole in a Tundra.

Bored At Work?

Or in general?

Go sign up for Kongregate! It’s like a YouTube for Flash games. And there’s even an achievements system across the site!

Oh, and after you sign up, try Scribble.

I’d like to think that I got such a low score because I’m using a touchpad, but I’m gonna go look for my mouse and try again!
