You may have noticed that I’ve been playing with some new themes the last couple of days. There was one that I liked, but it was so simple, it didn’t even have comment support. If I wanted that, I would just stick with Tumblr.

Seriously… my big gripe with Tumblr is the lack of commenting. Well, you can have add-ons like Disqus, but they don’t work very well. The only way to talk about someone else’s post is to re-post it and write a little more under the quote? That’s the same reason I hate long e-mail threads in traditional e-mail! (And one reason why I love GMail.)

Anyway, I’m pretty happy with this theme, but I might be playing around with it a little more. I’m also cleaning up plug-ins in the background to change the speed and functionality of the site. For one thing, I’ve switched my RSS feeds to Feedburner.

As always, let me know if something doesn’t work the way you think it should, either by commenting on this post or shooting me a message if the site is down. (Sorry to anyone who tried to access it between 12 and 8 this morning.)

I’m going to try to write again, and the first step is to update everything. I just updated the WordPress core from 2.7.1 to 2.9.2. I’m also going to be fiddling around with the plug-ins to see what I still want to use and what I want to get rid of. Please let me know if you see any weird stuff going on.

Sorry about the lack of updates, everyone. I’ve been kinda busy and mostly lazy. Will try to get back into the swing of things.

I think that like most bloggers who have turned to Twitter, Twittering has reduced my quantity of blog posts. Hopefully, it will also increase the quality of my posts. (Let me know if see THAT slipping.) I’m still working on finding the balance between whether any given idea deserves a tweet or a full post. Right now, I’m experimenting with floating rough ideas on Twitter, and then doing a full post if I get lot of responses or a particularly interesting response.

As you may have noticed, I have made some changes to the site recently. Took the Twitter updates out of the sidebar and made it do daily posts instead. This gives me more of an archive of my tweets, and gives you guys a chance to comment on the stuff I’ve tweeted if you don’t actually follow me on Twitter, so don’t fret if you’re one of those people who just “doesn’t understand the point of Twitter” or downright hate it.
