To congratulate me on my new job, my parents got me two new dress shirts. Unfortunately, they are purple, which I’m not the biggest fan of. I’m actually curious about why they picked that color for me, because my mom knows and has teased me about my limited wardrobe palette.
But on the plus side, they are French cuff shirts. I usually hate jewelry, but there’s something about cuff-links that just seems really cool to me. I’ve just never had occasion to wear any before, mostly because I’ve never had a French cuff shirt until now.
My first instinct is to get something awesome like this, or maybe this, which I’ve actually had my eye on for a long time. (Can’t find the post anymore, but it was in one of my old sites.) On second thought, though, I think I would be better served getting something a little more subtle. And cheaper, too.
Anyone have recommendations of where/what to look for?
oh man, tell me about it! a clean, well ironed cuff shirt always makes one look so sophisticated! as for cuff links, i usually can never justify spending so much money on jewelry or accessories that cost more than the garment. in this case, i’m against buying cuff links that cost more than the shirt i’m going to wear it with!
i picked up some clean, simple sterling silver ones at JCPenney for an event last year. as always when picking out an accessory, make sure it applies to at least one very sharp looking outfit as well as universal enough to be applied to others. good luck on your search! i suppose you’re gonna have to post a pic with you wearing your shirt of studliness.
Get these!!
