Hacker Diet Update - Week 4

Time for another update.

Hacker's Diet Week 4
Weekly loss: 2.5 lbs. — Daily deficit: 1248 calo­ries.

Progress is still going strong. So far, I’ve lost 12.4 lbs of mea­sured weight (3.7 lbs in the last week) and 8.5 lbs of “real weight” (2.5 lbs in the last week). When I was doing the fam­ily chal­lenge, I had actu­ally back­tracked and only lost 10 lbs at this point. I finally ended with my mea­sured weight under the obese bar­rier, and within the next week, I hope to bring my “real weight” under it, too.

The exer­cise plan is going well and I’ve found a rung of the Fit­ness Lad­der that I’m com­fort­able doing daily. The food side of things is where I had some trou­ble this week. I’m not sure if it’s because of the meat, or if I just ate more dur­ing New Year’s and my stom­ach expanded again, but it was harder than usual to con­trol my crav­ings this week. I’m going out of town with some friends this week­end, so hope­fully I can con­trol myself and not set myself back. (This also means that you shouldn’t expect updates from me. I might do short ones over the G1, but most likely not.)

Also, I won­der if in the long-​term, my progress will be rel­a­tively lin­ear all the way to my goal, or if I’ll level off and have to really fight to get there in time. If it really is that smooth and I get to my goal by April like the chart says I will, then I think I’m going to lower my goal so that I’m firmly within the nor­mal BMI range instead of on the overweight/​normal barrier.
