Progress is still going strong. So far, I’ve lost 12.4 lbs of measured weight (3.7 lbs in the last week) and 8.5 lbs of “real weight” (2.5 lbs in the last week). When I was doing the family challenge, I had actually backtracked and only lost 10 lbs at this point. I finally ended with my measured weight under the obese barrier, and within the next week, I hope to bring my “real weight” under it, too.
The exercise plan is going well and I’ve found a rung of the Fitness Ladder that I’m comfortable doing daily. The food side of things is where I had some trouble this week. I’m not sure if it’s because of the meat, or if I just ate more during New Year’s and my stomach expanded again, but it was harder than usual to control my cravings this week. I’m going out of town with some friends this weekend, so hopefully I can control myself and not set myself back. (This also means that you shouldn’t expect updates from me. I might do short ones over the G1, but most likely not.)
Also, I wonder if in the long-term, my progress will be relatively linear all the way to my goal, or if I’ll level off and have to really fight to get there in time. If it really is that smooth and I get to my goal by April like the chart says I will, then I think I’m going to lower my goal so that I’m firmly within the normal BMI range instead of on the overweight/normal barrier.
