So I’m not sure where it falls into the General Creepiness Rule if you are attracted to a fictional character who falls (just barely) outside of the non-creepy range (and has since moved into the range) while the actress that plays her is within the range (and is actually older than me).
I ask because some online recommendations led me to check out Veronica Mars, who is quite cool. The show starts with her at 17 in 2004, which puts her half a year out of my range at the time, but she has since moved into it. Kristen Bell (from Maxim), who plays her, is actually two years older than me. I never really liked her character in Heroes, but the show was generally crappy by the point they introduced her.
Oh, and speaking of Veronica Mars, what’s up with this trend of shows using the whole “social-economic status divide as polarized through high school” angle? I know this is one of the older ones, but it’s definitely on an up trend. The show has the twist of a criminal procedural to keep the story interesting, but it still plays into the “lower-class protagonist busting into the upper class world” stereotype. Why aren’t there any stories about an upper-class protagonist? My guess – Siddhartha lacks sufficient drama for TV. Perhaps too much inner monologue which turns into cheesy voice-over self-narration?
i love veronica mars. it is only 3 seasons, but its all good.
if you read some forums/ask ausiello says there might be a veronica mars movie in the works, yay.

Yeah, I heard about that. Supposedly it’s going to be with her out of college and joining the FBI.
