So besides class and hanging out with everyone I can recently, I also moved out of Monster House and back home home. Although I guess that makes it just home now. (I’m actually typing this post up on my own computer, which is on a new — or old, depending on how you look at it — desk in my new/old room.) Moving back and dropping the second “home” is a little weird. I feel like, by having to move back home, I’ve failed somehow. The whole point of college was to get a job I could support myself with, right?
Well, at least I can tell myself this is just temporary. I’m looking for a job to get me by, and holding out for law school. By the way, no California law schools are hitting me up, but a lot of schools in the East/Midwest are. I have a feeling I might be moving away from the Golden State again. Which really sucks. I just reconnected here. I love California… the people, the weather, the places to go, the culture… it’s all amazing.
Most people I know stay with their families after graduating undergrad. No shame in that! It’s extremely helpful to not pay rent when you’re looking for and starting a new job. I think the several years right after undergrad are really hard and stressful for many people. It’s that time you make the transition from student to employee, and start getting your foot in the door of underpaid work.
how many law schools are in california? apply to as many as possible! even though i’m sure your credentials are really good, i always think it’s better to be safe than sorry. (i applied to at least 8 schools haha)
California law schools never sent me much of anything; I imagine they view it as a waste of postage to remind people in-state they exist.
i’m in the same boat… living at home and doing underpaid work while i wait to see if any pharmacy schools want me. i only applied to 2 in calif, so i have a pretty slim chance, but i wouldn’t mind going out of state that much. it’ll be interesting to see what else is out there. and you can always move back when it’s over.
