Or art imitating life? Or some combination of the two? You decide!
First there’s a story about the real Indiana Jones.
Then, Queens of the Stone Age releasing a music video in the style of Rock Band, complete with a neon “Rock Band” sign behind the band in the video. The song playable in Rock Band, too.
And finally there’s Ben Stiller, Jack Black, and Robert Downey, Jr. making a spoof “viral video” to promote their new movie, Tropic Thunder.
To add even more to this story, though… Viacom, which owns both MTV, where the clip originally aired, and the studio making the movie, forced YouTube and other internet video sites to take down the clip. Viacom hates internet video so much, apparently, that it doesn’t even care about promoting its own products.
