Freedom of Choice

One of the things I love most about healthy competition is great customer service. When a company knows you could go elsewhere, they try their best to keep you happy.

You know, I generally believe in the Republican ideals of small government and free market. But this administration has done nothing but grow the government and limit the markets. I can’t think of a single government entity which hasn’t been in the news in the last eight years with accusations of at best, inefficiency, and at worst, outright favoritism and cronyism. … OK, I haven’t heard anything about the DEA, but that’s probably just because the drug dealers who aren’t getting favors aren’t willing to complain to the press about the drug dealers who are benefitting. :)

Speaking of drugs, perhaps the worst is Tommy Thompson, former Secretary of Health and Human Services, who changed the rules of Medicare to benefit companies he owns, lied to Congress about the cost of prescription drug aid legislation, and got a contract to treat the medical ails of Katrina victims after failing to act in a timely manner when the hurricane first struck. The health of millions of American citizens meant nothing to him compared to the ability to abuse his office to line his own pockets with billions of dollars.

Funny how he acts that way and then says a Jewish crack about money to a Jewish audience.
