Twas The Dark Knight Before Christmas

Besides the excel­lent rhymes, I like the mes­sage of the video. Despite not being Chris­t­ian, I really do enjoy Christ­mas because of the hol­i­day spirit, and I wish gifts weren’t so cen­tral to every­thing. Spend­ing time with friends and fam­ily is really what this is all about.

I know it can sound cheesy and fake when I say stuff like that, but this year, I’m reminded of the truth of it more than ever. This Thurs­day, my fam­ily (minus Dong Ha, who will be fly­ing to Min­nesota to vista Eva and the rest of the extended fam­ily) will be dri­ving down to LA to visit some fam­ily down there. We’ll also be bring­ing a fam­ily friend and her two sons. Her hus­band is one of the four peo­ple being still being held by the Viet­namese gov­ern­ment, and she’s hav­ing a really hard time (they’ve already had Thanks­giv­ing and Christ­mas with­out him), so we’re bring­ing them down to visit some of their fam­ily down in SoCal.

Today, I had break­fast with my fam­ily and then we opened our presents for each other. Most of our rel­a­tives are out of town, so we only had a cou­ple each. My sis­ters got me a Thread­less t-​shirt and a Virgil’s Party Keg. I got them Loot and Set, so we’ve been play­ing those.
