One Down, Six More Sins To Go

So this morning was the final weigh-in for my family’s “Biggest Loser” challenge. I weighed in at 178, an astounding 37 pounds less than what I started at on January 15th. I’m pretty sure I won the contest; as of Monday, the next closest relative had lost 24 pounds. (Some relatives haven’t reported in their final weights yet.) But yeah… the challenge was a great idea. I made some money, and gained a lot of motivation to lose weight, which I should have been doing anyway.

So, it has become a Thanksgiving tradition in our house for my sisters and I to kick my mommy out of the kitchen and take care of the Thanksgiving feast ourselves. This year, Dong Ha made soup, salad, scalloped potatoes, soufflé, and cranberry sauce. Gio Linh made mashed potatoes, ambrosia (which our family just calls fruit salad), and an apple cheesecake (which was basically a cheesecake sandwiched in apple pie). I made the turkey, stuffing, candied yams, gravy, and pumpkin bread.

We had some family friends come over, and I have to say, it was quite the success. After dinner, I weighed myself again, just for laughs. I gained four pounds from dinner, which was basically my only meal of the day.

Anyway, massive food coma now… debating a nap before I call up people for Black Friday deals.

  1. You’re a family of cooks! Nice.

Grats on the weight loss. Wanna do another challenge with your friends?? We could stop at the half year mark or something. I could lose a good 15-20 lbs.

  2. I’m down for a friends version of Biggest Loser.

  3. hell yeah! let’s do it! who’s in?? let’s recruit! start a facebook group maybe? haha

  4. Thu losing 10-15 lbs?

    She might just disappear!

  5. Hm, I guess cheers are in order for winning the contest. You’ve displayed quite some willpower at the monsterhouse i gotta say, in the face of so many temptations.

I wouldn’t be down for a biggest loser competition, but I would be down for a healthiest eater competition. If Thu loses weight her spine is going to pop out of her back, like Baraka.

Dongha, come make some soup and salad for me. I’m a nice guy. And your brother approves.

    Jajajajajaja.
