Only class I had on Friday was Philosophy, and I’m now at one for three in the not-stuttering department. The professor seems pretty cool, actually… eloquent and funny. He likes to poke at philosophy cliches.
Anyway, the book for the class is Reason and Responsibility, and I hear it’s a good but dense read. My first reading assignment is the text form of St. Anselm’s Ontological Argument for the existence of God. If you’re interested, you can borrow my book for the full text, or check out the millions of summaries online, and we can discuss it. It’s interesting to me that a lot of philosophical issues are broken down into logical proofs, and that I can use my old ECS 20 skills on it. That’s two classes this quarter with a basis in discrete math! This will give me a lot of practice with truth tables in case I do decide to take the LSAT.
