I’m a huge fan of Puzzle Fighter. It’s possibly my favorite arcade game. I mean, puzzle + fighter … two of my favorite video game genres… how can you go wrong?
But now there’s something even better. I had heard about it already from Penny Arcade’s multiple comics. But Mommy Van made me see it for all its glory firsthand… I played the PC demo on her computer.
For those of you who don’t know, Puzzle Quest, much like it’s name implies, combines the puzzle and RPG genres. You pick a class of character to start, and go around defeating monsters and completing quests and such. However, battles take the form of a puzzle game. The puzzle part is similar to Bejeweled, which has already entranced several people in my extended family. I can’t wait to expose them to the crack that is Puzzle Quest. 
I’m almost willing to get a DS just to play this. However, I’ve heard there’s some bugs/glitches on the DS/PSP versions. But the XBLA version is coming soon. And shortly after that, the PC full version. I’m going to die of dehydration from drooling over the long wait. Count on me pulling a Gabe if you get between me and my copy of the PC version when it comes out!
