So I just read an article in the paper today about how more U.S. troops have now died in Iraq than civilians died in the 9⁄11 attacks.
You’d think that after that AND…
- three years and nine months of fighting (Longer than we were in WWII!),
- the 9⁄11 Commission found no link between Al Qaeda and Saddam Hussein,
- the CIA reported that Iraq had no WMDs since 1991,
- a memo from then-Defense Secretary Rumsfeld suggesting a change in strategy,
- America votes overwhelming for Democrats, whose central platform is withdrawing from Iraq,
- the non-partisan Iraq Study Group releasing its report suggesting a change in strategy,
- current Defense Secretary Gates’ report to Bush after interviewing troops in Iraq,
… that President Bush would realize that an immediate change was needed.
Why hasn’t there BEEN a damn change in strategy? President Bush said he’s going to wait until January to announce any changes in Iraq policy. Why? Is he waiting for December to officially become the bloodiest month of fighting this year?!
… Or maybe he’s just waiting for January 4th, when the 110th Congress will convene and immediately begin impeachment proceedings. Ha! Yeah, right. But a boy can dream, can’t he?
It’s because we are the middle-childs of the nation. We have no great cause to fight for. w00t for movie lines. :em11:
Huh? What movie is that from, and what does that have to do with the Iraq War?
It means people are making trouble when there really isn’t anything. Making a big deal of the war and making it an epic struggle when it’s just greed. I forgot the movie.
TIA.
