So I just read an arti­cle in the paper today about how more U.S. troops have now died in Iraq than civil­ians died in the ⁹⁄₁₁ attacks.

You’d think that after that AND…

• three years and nine months of fight­ing (Longer than we were in WWII!),
• the ⁹⁄₁₁ Com­mis­sion found no link between Al Qaeda and Sad­dam Hus­sein,
• the CIA reported that Iraq had no WMDs since 1991,
• a memo from then-​Defense Sec­re­tary Rums­feld sug­gest­ing a change in strategy,
• Amer­ica votes over­whelm­ing for Democ­rats, whose cen­tral plat­form is with­draw­ing from Iraq,
• the non-​partisan Iraq Study Group releas­ing its report sug­gest­ing a change in strategy,
• cur­rent Defense Sec­re­tary Gates’ report to Bush after inter­view­ing troops in Iraq,

… that Pres­i­dent Bush would real­ize that an imme­di­ate change was needed.

Why hasn’t there BEEN a damn change in strat­egy? Pres­i­dent Bush said he’s going to wait until Jan­u­ary to announce any changes in Iraq pol­icy. Why? Is he wait­ing for Decem­ber to offi­cially become the blood­i­est month of fight­ing this year?!

… Or maybe he’s just wait­ing for Jan­u­ary 4^th, when the 110^th Con­gress will con­vene and imme­di­ately begin impeach­ment pro­ceed­ings. Ha! Yeah, right. But a boy can dream, can’t he?
