Forever Lost

Before I start, I forgot to mention something from the day before. When I went to Hunan’s, my fortune cookie said,

Nothing in the world is accomplished without passion.”

You can finish it off.

Yesterday was an up and down day.

Slept in and woke up feeling like I was on top of the world. Went online and talked to Peggy for a while. Then she wanted to take a nap, so I wrote a post in the meantime. Then she woke up and took off, so I just lay in bed for a while and thought about life. When my mind started running in circles, I read some more Batman.

Peggy called me up a little later because she was going to start making some more shirts at Jackie’s, and I had mentioned that I wanted to see the process. Went over there with two burritos in hand, since I could use their microwave and have soft shells for once. Peggy was knocked out when I got there, and Jackie was watching TV. Had my burritos and then killed the bit of udon that they had left, because Jackie said it was so little, she didn’t want to save it. Watched TV with the two of them and Mommy Van for a while. Quote comes from that.

Mom, sit with us!”

- Peggy, because Mommy Van sat on the ground instead of on the couch with her kids.

No, that’s OK.”

- Mommy Van.

We don’t stink or anything…”

- Peggy, pulling Mommy Van up onto the couch.

Well, she doesn’t.”

- Me, motioning at Peggy.
And then after she made herself lunch, Mommy Van sat on the ground again.

Dinh really does stink, huh?”

- Peggy, moving down to the ground with Mommy Van.

When nothing good was on anymore, Jackie and Peggy decided to get started. I hovered between watching the two of them work on their projects out in the loft and going into Mommy Van’s room to watch her work on her own project on the computer.

Then I was an idiot.

Sophia C came over a little later, and the two of us migrated to Mommy Van’s room, distracting her until it was time for her class at Sac City and she kicked us out. Sophia went home and I did likewise. Stopped by Kitty’s and gave her the sand I got for her from Santa Cruz that I just always forgot to give her whenever I went over. Back to my place, and went online. Apologized to Peggy, and while she said she was OK, I couldn’t shake the feeling that I was a shithead, so I went to sleep and hoped it would pass.

I did feel better because Peggy called me up a little later to hang out, and I figured if she’s over it, I should be, too. Took a shower, talked to Janice for a bit, and went online while I was waiting for her to come over. Dong Ha messaged me with some really bad news on the home front. I called my parents, and they confirmed it. (Not that I didn’t believe Dong Ha, because it’s not like her to joke about something like that. But I just wanted to hear it from the source.) I almost wanted to cry, because I could tell just over the phone my dad was having a really hard time.

Peggy came over, and we went over to Kitty’s to watch The Eye — Ten Ways To See Ghosts with her. Overall, I wasn’t scared — it had too many comic relief moments for that — but it did have scary moments. And it was cool how they incorporated parts of The Eye and The Eye 2 into it.

Kitty went to sleep after that. Peggy went to Brandon’s, and I went back to my place. Oh, as I was walking Peggy to her car, she pointed out it was a full moon, and I realized I was supposed to be vegetarian yesterday and today, but I forgot. Janice was on my bed, so I went to Will N’s. Thought about life again until I exhausted myself and passed out.
