Open Door

In between movies at the moment, so I guess I’ll write another post.

Thurs­day… woke up around 7. Went online almost imme­di­ately. I can’t get enough of it since I got back in town. Wrote a post. Down­loaded Naruto and Bleach episodes and got caught up. Got caught up on my manga, too. Fired up Azureus, since I didn’t have much to do, I fig­ured I’d catch up on movies every­one else had seen while I was gone.

While I waited for stuff to down­load, did some ser­vice stuff, both on the VP level and the project level. Had to ask some peo­ple to chair upcom­ing projects, because peo­ple will sign up to work, but no one ever signs up to chair or drive. And I had to make some calls about St. John’s Play­time, since I was replac­ing Genie, and I was dri­ver for that.

Bummed around online some more, and then it was time for the project. Piacked up Eric, Peggy, and Kim, and we were off. St. John’s was easy to find, and we were play­ing with the kids in no time. At first I was play­ing catch with this kid named Arden. He was a bit odd. He kept try­ing to throw the foot­ball so it’d get stuck on the roof or in the tree instead of back to me. And in the mid­dle of play­ing, he ran over to a chair, sat down, and started grab­bing his winkie. His mom said it’s because he had to go potty, but he refuses to go while it’s play­time. Yeah… I left him alone after a while because he wouldn’t play anymore.

Then I played with Adrian, mostly chas­ing him around the play equip­ment and lift­ing him up to the mon­key bars. In the mid­dle of this, Katie jumped onto me and demanded a ride. So I obliged, run­ning and skip­ping around the play­ground. As soon as I let her off, though, another kid jumped on, so I had to run around with him, too, shak­ing him up as much as pos­si­ble. Soon all the kids wanted rides. (Where’s Waldo?) But yeah, as you can see, the rides got a bit over­whelm­ing for me, and it ended up with me just wrestling with the tikes on the ground. And I’d occa­sion­ally be able to stand up with some of the cling­ing onto me and I’d shake them off as best I could, and they’d all clam­ber on again and later, rinse, repeat. Towards the end, it was more of bull-​rides than horsey-​rides.

7:30 came and we had to go. But the fun wasn’t over yet. Quote comes as we were all get­ting into the car -

Yeah, like Peggy says, that boy is spe­cial. I feel even worse about trick­ing him way back then… I didn’t know just how gullible he was.

Any­ways, drove back to Davis and dropped every­one off. Since Eric and Will live in the same area, I picked him up to go talk about ser­vice stuff. I was still dying to thirst, though, so we headed to Jamba Juice. I got the “Straw­berry Surf Rider,” which is the new name for the “Straw­berry Tsunami.” Appar­ently they had to rename it to be able to put it back on the menu. Silly Jamba Juice.

Will wanted some food, too, so we went to… Coldstone’s! They had a bunch of new fla­vors to replace peach. I didn’t get any­thing, but I did try the “Wasabi Gin­ger” ice cream. It’s pretty good, but I have no idea what I would mix it with. Imag­ine a creamy wasabi that doesn’t quite shoot up your sinuses as much. With a gin­ger after­taste. That’s the new fla­vor. Oh, yeah, and by the reg­is­ter, they had fly­ers for the Spe­cial Olympics Rub­ber Duck Regatta project that we’re doing!

After Will and I took care of our ser­vice stuff, dropped him back off at home, and then I went home and a much-​needed shower. (That would be my third of the day… once when I woke up, and once again right before the project, because I was sweaty from sit­ting in my leather seat all day.) Went online and talked to Joe M and Peggy for a while. We all decided to go over to Brandon’s to chill.

Watched part of Sex is Zero and then part of Juon 2 over there, and then I went home, because I was really tired.
