If You Want

Here’s a bonus post for everyone; I’m going a day back and covering Peggy’s birthday!

Woke up around 9 because I was so anxious about finishing her gift. Went online and waited for someone from Kitty’s apartment to go online so I could ask to come over. In the meantime, watched some animé and read some manga.

Kitty came online about 12:30, and said she had to shower first. In the meantime, I went to get the sprinkle doughnut that I owe her. First I went to Albertson’s, because they have Krispy Kreme doughnuts there. But as soon as I closed the door to my car, I realized that I had locked my keys inside. Grr! Stupid me!

Since I had no phone, either, I went to look for a pay phone, but I didn’t see one anywhere around. Went into Albertson’s and asked to use the store phone. They were nice enough to let me, and I called Eddie C, one of the few numbers I have memorized. (Sorry, guys. After I got a cell phone, I stopped remembering them. And Eddie C’s is the only one of the Davis people I know who hasn’t changed their number since before that.) He called around and eventually got Brandon to come with his AAA card for me. Which leads to that day’s quote -

Hey, were you waiting long for me?”

- Brandon, when he came.

Not really, why?”

- Me.

When Eddie called me, I was at Osaka with my dad and brother. I went home to get my card, and then somehow ended up watching TV. I remembered I was supposed to do something, but couldn’t remember what. And then I saw an Allstate commercial and it hit me!”

- Brandon.

Hahaha.”

- Me.

Yeah… who knows how long you would have had to wait if that commercial hadn’t come up.”

- Brandon.

Hehehe. It’s cool, Brandon, I wasn’t waiting very long at all. And I do the same type of thing all the time.

So yeah, he called for help, and the tow truck guy came and picked my door. It’s scary how easy it is to get into my car. All I need is a wire coat hanger. And if I’m feeling fancy, that plastic wedge he used to not damage the windowpane or insulation around it. It took him about twenty seconds in all.

After that, thanked the guy and Brandon. Went inside the store, but they again didn’t have sprinkle doughnuts. How do all the places in Davis have doughnuts of every type except sprinkled?! Gave up and went back to Suntree. Went over to Kitty’s and apologized to her about not getting a doughnut again. Finished the stuff for Peggy. (And the gift for Bethany, actually. I just haven’t been able to call her and make sure she’ll be home for me to drop it off. Damn phone!) Kitty and Jeff were studying, and Jeff provided lunch of clam chowder and sourdough bread for all of us.

Went back to the apartment and did a lot more planning online with Mommy Van and Sophia C. I was going to take a nap, but ended up not having the time to do so. Mommy Van said that Applebee’s doesn’t do reservations, so I went at 6:30 to make sure they would have room for us. When I got there, though, they did have a table waiting, so it’s like they do do reservations… I was confused. But glad that I didn’t have to bitch at them. I told people to be there at 7, because Sophia C was supposed to kidnap Peggy around 7:15 and get her there by 7:30. 7:30 came and went. We were all sitting there waiting for Sophia C, and she showed up and told us Peggy had gone to Walmart. In Dixon. What a brat!

So I drove Sophia C, Amber, and Drew to Dixon to get her. Despite what my passengers may tell you, I had complete control over my vehicle at all times. Got there and didn’t see her car in the lot, so we were afraid for a second that she had turned around already, but no, it was just hiding in the very corner. Parked next to it and ran inside. I think the manager was slightly alarmed by the fact that we were running around with water guns and bandanas over our faces. Found Peggy and Po, and squirted them both. Sophia C was also hit by Amber. The manager yelled at us that we were creating a safety hazard and I had to take the water guns out to the car. Waited for Peggy and Po to check-out, and then led her car back to Davis.

Oh, and Peggy says that she knew we were going to have a surprise dinner for her because we didn’t do anything for her the whole day. How cocky is that?! She went to Walmart on purpose! Grr… That’s OK, next year… no surprise anything!

I think Peggy finally got her “surprise” around 8:30ish. Had dinner. It was the standard Applebee’s fare. Mommy Tang came just around cake time, which was unexpected. Peggy creamed me. :( I thought about getting her back, but my plan backfired slightly. That’s OK… I take back what I said before. Next year, we’re caking her.

After dinner, stood around in the parking lot for a while. Gifts were given. Hope you got everything you wanted. We finally went back to Sophia C’s and watched movies. Scary Movie 3 and Attack The Gas Station to be precise. Everyone trickled home. I went online shopping with Esther for a bit, and then went home myself.
