Your New Aesthetic

Hmm… yesterday…

Woke up and chatted with Jackie, of course. Did the usual rounds on Xanga. Wrote up the LONG post about the rest of pledge retreat that you see below. Watched some TV on the computer… Life On A Stick is great. The Office was awesome. Two new shows I randomly downloaded were good, too… Grey’s Anatomy and Eyes. That puts me into the afternoon already. (The long posts take even longer to write… trust me.)

Realized that I needed a ride to the meeting because I was bringing so much crap. Asked a couple of people online, but no one responded. Judy offered Chris a little later to me, though. :) Went downstairs for some water and got stuck watching Eddie C play Mercenary for a while. It’s like GTA with a military skin and set in Korea. (Watch, Sophia’s going to comment on this post now. :) ) Talked online some more, and then it was time for the meeting.

The offices actually ran through really fast. Before we knew it, it was time for BComm to do our thing. Peggy was the Birthday Bee, Sophia was the Birthday M&M, Allan was Little Red Riding Hood, and I, of course, reprised my role as the Birthday Fairy. We changed into our costumes in the hall while classes around us were letting out… a little on the embarrassing side. Tony Q put down money for me alone to booty scoop Lo S. What’s up with that?! (We collected around $27 in booty scoops, by the way… what an awesome fundraiser! :) ) After us was Spirit, they drew attention away from us very well indeed. Matt… no one will ever forget that. Least of all Minh T. Then we had an hour of mugs, even though it was limited to one a person. After the meeting, Loose Family meeting in the hall. Went over the usual stuff, signed up for rides, etc.

Then off Wendy’s. While in line, Esther wondered if anyone was going to get the chili. I didn’t know, so she had to tell me about the finger they found in someone’s chili in San Jose. The customer isn’t even going to sue. Wow, that’s amazing in this day and age. It wasn’t even her fault, and she’s not suing? Most people do something stupid and sue to say they shouldn’t have been allowed to do so in the first place. Good god, frivolous lawsuits are killing America. But that’s another topic altogether.

So yeah, got three burgers and a small chili. :) Ate wtih Esther, Mommy Tang, and Mommy Van. Pledges came by for Mommy Tang’s sig, but couldn’t get it. Then they realized they also needed Mommy Van’s sig, and some people got that. (Come on! Robert’s Rules is so easy to remember!) Then they walked away without asking for mine. The simplest one of all. We talked about some gossip and of course the “who do you want for your LB” stuff. Wendy’s kicked us out at 10, and we all went home.

Realized when I got home that I left some stuff at Wellman, so drove back there to pick it up before it got cleaned up by the custodians, and then dropped off some of it. When I dropped of Alice C’s M&M costume, got into a random conversation with her at her doorstep. In the middle of our chat, her phone rang in her room, and it led to yesterday’s quote -

Hear that? I’m not going to get it.”- Alice C.
“But what if it’s an important APhiO or Picnic Day call?”- Me.
“Eh… I’m not Service anymore. I don’t have to be tied to my phone.”- Alice C.
”… but you’re Membership…”- Me.
“But it’s not Service. This is my way of being less involved for a term.”- Alice C.

Damn. aBB considers being Membership VP “less involved.” I’m afraid to see what “involved” is for her.

Went home after that and chatted online for a bit and sent Grey’s Anatomy episode 2 to Mommy Van, because she hadn’t seen it yet. Then I knocked out.

Oh, by the way… I hope you guys got an eyeful last night… I believe the Birthday Fairy is now officially retired.
