Something Bigger Something Brighter

Oh man, I missed a day again. OK, time to play a little catch-up!

Thursday… woke up relatively late, and with a headache. Didn’t feel like going to CoHo. Sat around on the computer for a while, posting, reading Xangas and emails, and trying to get some work done. Talked to Peggy S, who was doing some homework at home. She needed to go to Dollar Tree for something, so I tagged along for kicks and giggles. We both ended up getting stuff for LBs, even though neither one of us was completely sure we were getting LBs this term. I guess we are now. :)

Peggy S had a class after that but didn’t want to go… I finally talked her into it, but only by way of going with her. Funny… I said I would sit next to her and poke her to keep her up, but I ended up falling asleep in that class, while Peggy S actually stayed up and took notes. :)

Then it was getting close to dinner time, so we went back to her place, and Peggy S started cooking up dumplings and rice balls and her Iron Chef dessert for us, while she made me watch TV. Oh yeah… I tried to help out at one point, but I ruined some stuff and then she beat me own with a spatula and kicked me out of the kitchen.

Let’s see… besides her roommates, Lin and Liz (the pledges), Helen and (someone whose name I forgot), Alicia, Eddie C, Eddy, Tom, Joe M, Ian R, Drew M, and Clint S also came over to eat. I don’t know why, but it turned into “bag on Joe M night” and some things were said that he didn’t like too much. I’ll admit I was involved in it, too. I set up a comment and Peggy S spiked it. And then Peggy S and Drew M fed off each other for a while. Thursday’s quote, comes from Joe M’s reaction to a certain part of the conversation -

Ah! I can’t stop myself. This is so worth it! You’re such a bitch, Peggy!”- Joe M, cussing during Lent.

Just gotta keep Peggy S on it and soon, Joe M’s count will surpass mine. :) And I bit back on some comments of my own, because they were very messed up. But I told Joe M one in particular later… he liked. Well, maybe not liked, but he was able to laugh about it. All in all, very proud of myself as entertainment chair.

We finally took off around 1:30 because one of her roommates was going to sleep, and we were a little loud. Went home with Eddie C and kocked out myself.

It’s hard not to slip up while making fun of people.

Now to cover Friday… I got talked into chalking, so went to sleep around 2:30 only to wake up at 5:00, because I wanted to shower, and I was supposed to call Joe M and Peggy S to make sure they were up. Peggy S ended up calling me just moments before 5:30, when I was going to call her, and chewed me out for not waking her up sooner. I apologized profusely and then called Joe M, who took his wake-up call a little more in stride. He came by and picked Eddie C and me up to go to campus.

We chalked until around 7:30, then went to Baker’s Square to eat with Ian R and Kitty K. Went with Ian R and Joe M to Arden after that… we got there ten minutes before the mall opened, though, so we sat in the car for a bit. And ended up knocking out in the parking lot for an hour. Wandered around, but I think we were all still half-dead, so back to Davis we went. Got distracted by the computer when I got home, so I only got an hour of napping in before it was time to go to campus for initiation. About sixty pledges showed up! Tran Class is looking big and strong indeed. Oh, Peggy S and I got to play with a group of them! We may have scared them a bit with our joking, though…

Did you tell them to bring towels?”- Peggy S.
“No, I thought PPs would…”- Me.
“Oh. It’s pretty cold for swimming tonight, though…”- Peggy S.
“Yeah, I would hate to be in the Arboretum tonight.”- Ronnie.

During the ceremony, some stupid girls kept interrupting, so I ended up standing guard in the hall. Come on… if you open a door and see some people, most likely they will still be there five minutes later, there’s no need to check again. And again. And again. Oh, and I didn’t get a sponsoree. :( But Clint S got one, and I’m pretty sure Annie got one, so I have a sponsoree squared now. :)

After initiation, went to Murder Burger with Aaron L and Mo W. I got an Aggie Annihilator. Man is that thing awesome. But overall, the service at Murder Burger has been going downhill. They took forever to take our order, and even longer to cook it. And my fries were cold and soggy when I got them. We went over to In N Out, where everyone else was eating, and awed them with the size of my burger. Then we went to Avalon Lounge, the place of the official after-initiation meet-and-greet. I somehow got sucked into helping with the Tran Class Pledge Retreat. Well, I’m gonna try to be hands off, and only offer advice as necessary.

Peggy S, Becca Y, and I left early and went back to my place. Peggy S and I watched the William Hung movie as Becca Y watched Bleach up in my room. They took off afterwards, and I went upstairs to find Becca Y had cleaned up my whole room! It was amazing! Thanks so much, Becca Y! Fell asleep in my cleaner, more spacious bed after that. :)
