Insomniac

Man, feeling a little light-headed right now. I think my caffeine dose is kicking in. But let’s start at the beginning…

What did I do yesterday? Woke up at around 7:30 for no particular reason. No one else was up at that time, so I went back to sleep. About 5 minutes later, Joe M called me up… apparently he forgot to go pick up his BB from the airport, and was just calling around to make sure no one else had gone in his stead. Went back to sleep again and woke up around noonish. Chatted online for a large part of the day. Had “lunch” around 3 again. It was half of my Baldo’s. Man, I’ve gotten used to having a meal a day for the last week. Is that weird? Starting watching my old The Tick episodes. I love that show… so deliciously random. Spoon!

Joe M came over for a bit, then we headed off to ExComm at Lamppost, even though neither one of us was needed. After ExComm was the first rush event, Pizza Night! Officially, there were twenty-something potential pledges there. I met… Po, Linda, Lin, Liz, Chris, Haley, Tyler, and Tony. Funny story about how I met Tony. In fact, it’s quote!

Dinh, I need you!”- Alice C, pulling me away from Drew and Steph Liu.
“Huh? What’s going on?”- Me.
“I need you to talk nerdy! This guy says he’ll pledge if I find someone nerdier than him!”- Alice C.

So yeah, that’s how I met Tony. But unfortunately, I did not rise to the challenge. I was not nerdy enough to answer his hardware question, because I don’t really follow hardware unless I’m about to build a system. He says he’ll still consider pledging, though. :)

Emily finished the IPhi comic and handed it to me before turning it into Jackson. It looks great! I can’t wait for the first issue of Expressions! Oh yeah… I still need to write a profile, too… Split a pizza with Drew and Joe M. Oh, and Clint came by! He said he’s not planning on getting a LB this term, but I’m hoping to still keep him as active as possible. “Helped” Drew and Steph Liu with all the stuff they are filling out in hopes that we will win some awards at Sectionals. Oh, and talked about possible Sectionals t-shirts designs.

After pizza, went to Brandon’s, where I was supposed to work on the t-shirt. But instead, we sat around and talked. Talked to Chris, Clayton, and Michelle about Sneak/Snatch in particular. Went on Brandon’s computer to look for inspiration online, but nothing really jumped out at me. Oh, while I was online there, though, Mommy Tang talked me into staying up until 5 with her and getting coffee when Starbucks opened. Joe M was my ride, and he went home shortly after that, so I did, too. Chatted online some more, and before I knew it, it was 4:30. IMed Mommy Tang a couple of times to ask if we were still on for coffee, but she didn’t answer. Then Drew talked Eddie C, and through him, me, into chalking. So we got coffee (I had a double espresso) and went to campus.

Our group hit Young, Olson, Everson, Roessler, Chem, and Hutchison. Then we went home. Now the caffeine I had at around 6 has finally kicked in, and I’m not even tired. Well… mentally tired… but physically… I’m not even yawning anymore.

And I’m supposed to have Fuji’s at 12. Should I nap? I think I’m going to force myself to. Those of you who know me know that I’m usually not like this at all. I can usually fall asleep at the drop of a hat. But today… is just odd. Here’s hoping I don’t go into sleep-deprivation-induced seizures at the active meeting today.
