Prove My Hypotheses

Yay! My com­puter is work­ing again. I didn’t get a chance to really take a look at what was wrong with it until just now… I’m on my lunch break from work. Did a quick glance yes­ter­day morn­ing and noth­ing looked burnt out, and looked like the water cool­ing sys­tem wasn’t leak­ing, so I just let things sit. Some­times just that will fix the weird­est problems.

… no such luck, though. Today, I tried the power but­ton again, and noth­ing hap­pened. Looked more care­fully at all the wires and such, but noth­ing seemed amiss. Tried the next thing that hit me, which was to reset my UPS. (Unin­ter­rupt­ible Power Sup­ply, not United Par­cel Ser­vice for you non-​1337 folks out there.) It booted up like a dream.

I guess I need a new bat­tery for the UPS. But in the mean­time, com­puter still usable!
