The New Year

So this post is about a week and a half too late, but eh… better than never, right? I’d like to pretend that I was purposely holding off on it because I knew I would be moving to a new site soon, but I don’t think too many people would believe that.

It’s a long and glorious tradition (it’s even built into the name of the month) to examine your life when the new year comes around, both looking back over the previous year to see what you did right and what you did wrong, and to look to the coming year, perhaps even setting a goal or two in the form of New Year’s resolutions…

Looking back… first off, I don’t even remember what my resolution was for 2004. It right before my layout change on Retarded Azn Bish, so I can’t even go back and look it up. Whatever it is, I’m pretty sure it was unaccomplished… my life has changed drastically this year. Easily the best thing I did last year was to pledge APhiO. I constantly find myself thinking… what would I be doing right now if I hadn’t pledged? I certainly wouldn’t be where I am right now, with the friends I have right now. However, last year was not all gumdrops and candy canes, either. I made a serious mistake by letting my schoolwork slide during my pledge term, when I was already on shaky ground with the school. If anything, I should have taken care of business sooner instead of sitting on things and letting my academic situation get to where it is right now.

That’s why my 2005 New Year’s Resolution is to better manage my time so I can properly balance APhiO and school. I’m going to maintain active status AND earn at least 20 units towards graduation.

Wish me luck, guys!
